Postgraduate Courses
The following can all count towards either a Master of Engineering in Transportation (MET), a Master of Engineering Studies (MEngSt), or Postgraduate Certificate in Transportation Engineering (PGCertEng(Trpt)):
- All UC Transportation Engineering Postgraduate Courses (not all of these will be offered each year)
- Transportation Engineering courses from the University of Auckland.
- Some 400-level transportation courses, including ENCI498 (Design Project in Transport Engineering).
- Other transport-relevant
courses at Canterbury (e.g. Risk Assessment, Construction Management, Geography, Statistics).
Note: See 2012 block course schedule for Risk and Construction Mngmt courses. - Transport-relevant courses at other NZ universities.
Full-time working practitioners may also apply to take UC Transportation Engineering postgraduate courses as one-off Certificate of Proficiency (COP) papers.
Most courses are taught in "block-mode" (typically two 3-day teaching blocks plus background reading and assignments), making it easier for full-time and non-local practitioners to take part - see block course dates below.
Notes: Consult the University Calendar for specific Regulations regarding allowable courses.
Course programmes should be discussed with
the MET Programme Director prior to finalising enrolment.
Crediting courses outside the UC transport programme is subject to the approval of the Dean of Engineering.
