Limitation of entry [25] into the Natural Resources Engineering programme was reached very quickly this year. This is now reflected in the enthusiasm of the First Professional year students in pursuing their chosen degree. Welcome aboard folks!

Lab Developments
The NRE Group has access to both Environmental and Fluids laboratories. Available field measurement instruments range from GPS to environmental monitoring sensors and 2006 will see further enhancements to MOLAB, the mobile NRE laboratory. We are also in the process of canvassing for an ICP-OES.
This year, we have enhanced our Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities by installing ArcGIS 9 for NRE student access in the Civil computer suite. We are also in the process of purchasing new GPS equipment that will be used for both research and teaching and have been given access to the GPS equipment in Geology.
