CIB W18 Meeting 43

(International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction)

22-26 August, Nelson, New Zealand

The CIB W18 meeting to be held this year in Nelson, New Zealand is an annual event. This meeting will bring together world leaders in timber engineering and provide a forum for discussion and implementation of state of the art research, design and analysis methods for wooden structures around the globe.

Objectives of W18 Working Commission on Timber Structures

  • Study and highlight the major differences between the relevant national design codes and standards,
  • Suggest ways in which the future development of these codes and standards might take place in order to minimize or even to eliminate these differences.

CIB W18 is an independent group of timber engineering experts which publish its own recommendations through CIB, so that the rest of the world is aware of their views and of recommended ways of dealing with timber using current structural building codes. CIB W18 ensure that their recommendations are dealt with in a proper manner by the appropriate organisations which wish to use them.
