Third Professional Year

This year offers a great deal of flexibility. Only one course is compulsory – the remaining nine courses can be selected from the pool of elective 3rd Pro courses, from courses outside the Department, or from advanced postgraduate courses. Please refer to the Handbook or Calendar for approval requirements or pre- and co-requisite courses.

The number and type of courses that can be taken at Master's level and from outside the department is restricted. With Head of Department approval up to two courses from other departments can be taken provided you satisfy the necessary pre-requisites. You should discuss your options with the 3rd Professional year co-ordinator, Brian Caruso.

Only academically strong students are allowed to enrol in Master's courses. The guideline is a GPA of 6 (B+), or more must be obtained in your second professional courses to be able to enrol in a Master's course. If you are interested in this option please discuss it with the 3rd Pro co-ordinator.
